Glad you ask! We integrate an awesome system in vending machines, to dispense one of our reusable cups. In that moment, we can associate the cup to your payment details. Once you finish drinking, you just throw the cup in one of our smart bins (which will be as common as recycling bins) and we will reward you!

Practical
Usually, you should see it immeaditely in our
Dashboard. Just search by your card number, name or e-mail (after you register).
Don't forget to update/ refresh. If you still don't see an update after 24h report that! It's unacceptable!

If all of them decided to take a leave day, then let us know your details and your cup number (in the cup's bottom). Drop the cup in the normal cup recycling bin next to the vending machine, and we will reward you once we collect the cup.

Impact
To infinity and beyond!!! Our cups could theoretically be used thousands of times before reaching the end of their life. But we know that some cups will break, get lost, or fogotten in someone’s desk.
Our goal is to achieve an average of 1000 uses per cup, and to do so we will need your help! Make sure you leave your cup in one of our bins, and give the cup the long life it deserves. 👵🏻
(PS: to calculate our impact, though, we use the research benchmark of only 500 uses per cup)

Worldwide, more than
500 billion single-use cups
are wasted every year, almost half are plastic, with only a 9% of recycling rate! The carbon footprint can amount to a whopping 26 billion tons of CO2eq. emmisions. That’s more 2 times the pollution of all Ryanair operations and flights!
Sustainability is our driving force, and we are on a long-term mission to rid the world of single use packaging. To do so, we use durable Polypropylene (PP) cups, produced by local partners to minimize transportation emmissions. These cups, throughout their lifespan emit much less greenhouse gases than the other options. In fact, our cups, per each use, emit just:

- 31% of landfilled paper cup emissions
- 17% of recycled plastic cup emissions
- 10% of landfilled plastic cup emissions

Well… have you ever been to a normal coffeteria? I hate to be the one telling you, but the cup in which you drink your coffee there isn’t exactly in a monogamous relationship with you: it has been in many mouths.
We ensure you that we keep the same standards as the typical bar to keep our cups clean and healhy. In fact, we partner up with the local caffeterias to do the washing for us! (If you are at FEUP you can see our cups being washed in “Bar de Minas”). The cups themselves are also super food grade. You can dive deeper here.

Actually, plastic can be great, if used and disposed of correctly! Because our cups can be reused so many times, they significantly reduce waste compared to disposable cups.
Their environmental impact over their lifespan is much lower than that of single-use alternatives (less than 50% compared to recycled paper cups). Besides, we are looking forward to source more and more sustainable options (like recycled plastic from ocean waste!)
